Ayala steps up earthquake relief efforts in Pampanga

At least 1,000 families whose homes were lost or severely damaged by the April 22 earthquake will be served by Ayala Corporation, as it steps up its relief efforts in Pampanga.

Working through Ayala Foundation, the conglomerate has begun the distribution of construction materials that will help rebuild the homes of families in Porac and other surrounding towns. Construction materials (e.g. plywood and  galvanized iron sheets) will be distributed to families in severely affected areas in coordination with local government authorities.

Aside from helping rebuild shelters, Ayala is also working closely with Pampanga communities and officials in identifying other needs, particularly in the area of reconstruction and rehabilitation.

“Ayala has long believed in the tenacity and resilience of the Filipino. We also know that recovery after a disaster depends largely on people and communities working together. Our efforts in Pampanga are part of our contribution to improving lives and building resilient communities,” said Ruel Maranan, president of Ayala Foundation.

Ayala Foundation is also reaching out to upland barangays in Porac.  Major damages to schools and homes were reported in predominantly Aeta communities in Bgys. Camias, Diaz, Villa Maria and Sapang Uwak.
