Ayala Foundation considers ‘the future of history’ in 2018 annual report

In 2018, Ayala Foundation brought its programs to 36 provinces as well as Metro Manila, reaching all geographic regions in the country.

As we implemented programs in Education, Community Leadership, Suitable and Sustainable Livelihood, and Arts and Culture, we worked closely with various individuals and communities, making a difference in the lives of Filipinos all over the country.

As part of our efforts to report clearly on the reach and impact of our programs, we are pleased to announce the release of the Ayala Foundation 2018 Annual Report.

Entitled “The Future of History,” the report highlights how the lessons of history can have an impact on our present and help transform our future. By honoring our heroes, our national symbols, and our people’s stories, we get to show the many different ways that we could show our love for our country.

“Ayala Foundation pushed for ‘compassion in action’ through improved people and processes, as we continued to align, focus, and innovate in creating impact and value in partnership with the conglomerate to better serve our communities and ultimately the country,” said Ruel Maranan, president of Ayala Foundation.

The report also features an essay written by eminent historian Ambeth Ocampo. “Two decades ago the future of history seemed simple, to rummage through the past in order to understand the present, and confront the uncertain future,” he wrote. “However, the digital age is like no other. In the past two decades, information has exploded, or become viral, overtaking the human ability to process and digest it.”
