Ayala Foundation honors ordinary heroes, promotes spirit of volunteerism in new National Anthem video

In commemoration of National Heroes Day, Ayala Foundation pays tribute to ordinary heroes from different walks of life with the launch of a new National Anthem video.

At a special event held at the historic Tutuban Center in Manila on August 26, Ayala Foundation screened the video before members of the press ahead of its premiere at Ayala Cinemas nationwide and at various Ayala events.

The new National Anthem video honors the daily work of ordinary Filipinos in building the nation—parents, workers, civil servants, and others who work with honesty and dignity for their families, their communities, and the country. The video adheres closely to Ayala Foundation’s ongoing Maging Magiting advocacy campaign, which promotes love of country and seeks to recognize the extraordinary virtues of ordinary Filipinos.

The video also celebrates the spirit of service and volunteerism within the Ayala group, especially as Ayala celebrates its 185th anniversary. Most of the individuals who appear in the video are volunteers from Ayala companies as well as partner communities and institutions. By participating in the video, they volunteered their time and talent wholeheartedly, hoping to inspire others to participate in community and nation-building.

The new video was developed and produced by Ayala Foundation, with the support of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

“Ayala Foundation remains strongly committed to nation-building,” said Ruel Maranan, president of Ayala Foundation. “This new National Anthem video is our way of honoring the people and communities whom we continue to serve in both modest and big ways. We are all under one flag—united as one Filipino country, one Filipino people who desire a better future for our children and better lives for all.”

“As Ayala celebrates its 185th anniversary, we would like to highlight the spirit of collaboration, partnership, and volunteerism that is embedded in Ayala’s corporate culture,” said John Philip Orbeta, group head for corporate resources at Ayala Corporation. “This new video is just one way for us to show how Ayala’s 45,000-strong workforce is committed to serving the nation.”

Also present at the media launch were officers and representatives from Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land and Ayala Cinemas, the NHCP, and the City Government of Manila.

The media launch ended by laying a wreath at the foot of the monument of Andres Bonifacio at the Tutuban Center grounds.
